Auslan
Auslan is a visual language that has been developed organically over time that uses a visual-spatial language where hands, facial expressions with the use of arm, head and body postures to convey messages.
Students at Leitchville Primary School, are taught Auslan for their language on a weekly basis, which enables them to learn to communicate, understand language and culture – thereby developing an intercultural capability in communication.
Auslan allows our students to understand themselves as communicators and foster a more inclusive understanding of their community.
